Pastors Mitchell and Mily Echevarria
Our Church
The Family of Faith, a bilingual church, was born on June 6, 2004 when Pastor Mitchell and Mily Echevarria responded to the call of God and started meeting at a daycare center on South Howard Ave. After 2 years at the daycare center they were asked to move from this location to another daycare center to hold services in August of 2006. Previously, In February of 2006, the Lord placed in the pastors hearts to rent and renovate the building located on 105 W. MLK, a nightclub called, “The Gardens of Babylon”. Even though many did not believe in the vision the pastors persevered in their walk of faith and obedience. After many trials and tribulations, paying rent for 21 months before renovations could be completed, God allowed them to set foot at the current location and the first service took place in November of 2007. Services started in the small sanctuary and eventually after more renovations services took place in the big sanctuary in July of 2010. We want to thank everyone who has helped us on our calling and journey with Family of Faith/La Familia de La Fe. A church cannot rise without the people coming together and following the call the Lord has placed on their lives. We look forward to serving you and the community for as many years as the Lord gives us to serve. We are humbled to be chosen by the Lord to serve you. We love each one of you and want the blessings and favor of God to pour over your lives. We extend our appreciation to each of you and it cannot be measured in words the joy you have brought into our lives by knowing you and embracing each relationship as a gift from God. Our Journey
Dr. Mily Echevarria was born in Puerto Rico on February 16, 1961. She started working in the ministry at the age of 16 because her parents were traveling pastors and missionaries in three different countries. She attained a Bachelor's degree in 1984 from the University of Puerto Rico in Business Administration. Immediately after she graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, she felt the call of the Lord to start her studies in Theology. In August 1984 she joined the Interdenominational Theology Faculty in Carolina, Puerto Rico, to start her career in Christian Education. In 1987, she completed her second Bachelor's degree as a Summa Cum Laude student. Obeying the voice and the calling of the Holy Spirit she relocated to Tampa, FL in 1988 and she served the Lord as an educator. In 1998, ten years later, she received the call of the Lord to start a church and work as a Pastor. With her parents help they started the Family of Faith Church in June of 1998. Two years later, October of 2000, as per God's instructions they merged their congregation with New Life Christian Fellowship Church. She worked as an assistant Pastor and administrator for 3 years. Mily married Mitchell Echevarria, February 14, 2004. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9). In May 2004, Mitchell heard from the Holy Spirit to start a bilingual church in the Tampa downtown area where they currently pastor. Mily continued her graduate studies with Life Christian University (LCU) and in June of 2008 she received her doctorate degree in Theology as a Summa Cum Laude student. Mitchell received his Masters Degree in Theology, LCU, Summa Cum Laude, in June 2010. Currently, they reside in the state of Florida. In addition to their pastoral duties, they work for the International Federation of Chaplains and Human Rights as Florida State Directors. Furthermore, Mitchell Echevarria attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Argosy University in 2014, Summa Cum Laude, with a 4.0 GPA. Together they have five children and 6 grandchildren
